Free Choral Workshops

BE PART OF COOKTOWN'S 2010 CHOIR!

Last year a choir made up of talented locals from Rossville, Hope Vale and Cooktown was the centre-stage highlight at the world premiere of Laid In Earth.

Presented by the Queensland Music Festival, this spectacular event was held against the stunning backdrop of the Endeavour River.

QMF has invited composer Dan Rojas back to Cooktown work with the Cooktown Choir, presenting a series of free workshops.

Dan will be inspiring and challenging them with new techniques and repertoire. His goal is to give the choir the skills and confidence to become a fixture in the Cook Shire musical community.

The series will consist of one workshop week and two workshop weekends culminating in a public performance on September 4.

If you were part of the choir in 2009 or are thinking of joining as a new member, please contact Jacqui Sykes on 4069 5442 or jsproductions@aapt.net.au.
