Free Choral Workshops

Charleville Choral Project 2010

Following the extraordinary world premiere presentation of The Road We’re On last year, Queensland Music Festival has invited composer Scott Saunders back to Charleville to reform the choir and present a series of free workshops.

Scott aims to reinvigorate the choir, inspire and challenge with new repertoire and give the choir the foundation to become an integral part of the Murweh Shire musical community.

At the end of the first workshop weekend, on June 13, the Choir gave its first performance 2.30pm at the Town Hall, premiering a new work written by Scott Saunders especially for the Charleville Choir. For this performance, the choir was joined by a local string orchestra brought together for a workshop weekend by the University of Queensland.

The series of workshop weekends will culminate in a two finale public performances at the Cosmos Centre Theatre on Sunday August 29.

First Session from 4pm - 5pm

Wine & Cheese from 5.15pm - 6pm

Second Session from 6pm - 7pm
