Star Struck

Star Struck

Starstruck is a show for all ages bringing the culture and science of the land together through exploring the astronomy of the Northern and Southern constellations.

Choreographer/Producer Liz Lea worked with astronomers and scientists based at Mount Stromlo Observatory to develop this work in association with AusDance. Through contemporary dance, sound and film, this production brings an innovative insight to the science of the stars and our skies, black holes, exploding stars and observing new galaxies. The work includes Cygnus a solo dance inspired by the legend of the Northern Constellation lying on the Milky Way, a duet responding to a description of the Big Bang, and two different films and experiments with light.

Liz Lea is a performer and choreographer who directs Liz Lea Dance and Canberra Dance Theatre. She trained at London Contemporary Dance School, Akademi in London and Darpana Academy in India. Liz has worked for the Royal Opera House and English National Opera, and was Choreographer in Residence at CSIRO Discovery and directed the first DANscienCE symposium.
