WORLD-CLASS MUSICIANS PERFORMED CHAMBER MUSIC CLASSICS IN A NATURAL PARADISE
In six intimate concerts on stunning North Stradbroke Island, the Stradbroke Chamber Music Festival treated audiences to a program of masterworks by Haydn, Mozart, Schumann, Janacek, Brahms, Dvorak, Poulenc and others. The performers included classical guitarist Karin Schaupp, English clarinettist William Stafford and the internationally acclaimed Joseph Tawadros Quartet.
The festival culminated in two special concerts, where musical miniatures were linked by narrations of Oodgeroo’s Dreamtime stories in a performance that paid tribute to Quandamooka cultural heritage and to festival founder Jani Haenke. Audiences were also treated to the premiere of a composition by Yitzhak Yedid commissioned for the festival’s 10th anniversary.
Stradbroke Chamber Music Festival was presented by Queensland Music Festival and Stradbroke Chamber Music Festival.
