Voices of Remembrance – Toowoomba Concert

Voices of Remembrance – Toowoomba Concert

In commemoration of the signing of the Armistice, Voices of Remembrance focuses on the history and legacy of the community during the First World War. The concert will pay tribute to the Australian Light Horse, whose actions at Beersheba and throughout the Middle East helped turn the tide of the war in favour of the allies.

Featuring performances by award winning songstress Katie Noonan and renowned New Zealand baritone Teddy Tahu Rhodes, under the musical direction of Dr Jonathon Welch, the concert will be sound-tracked by songs of remembrance, as a reflection of war and peace. The repertoire of music during this evening of performance will include anthems that capture the spirit of the First World War such as Keep the Home Fires Burning, and other Australian music written during this time, along with contemporary pieces – including a world premiere by Gordon Hamilton.

Join Toowoomba’s community for an evening of music, paying tribute to the end of the First World War.
