On the Road Together
The Outback is a vast region defined by wide horizons, red earth landscapes and rich history. QMF believes Trail Ambassadors are a valuable way to help bring more music to more people in more places and share the natural beauty and warm hospitality of the region with more people.
Travellers and Ambassadors
Trail Travellers are the heart and soul of the Outback Trail, presented by QMF, and QLD Music Trails’ Ambassadors bring each town to life along the journey. Together, they create deep connections with communities that live in the heart of each regional town, as well as bonding with each other on each stop of the trail.
Our 2026 Outback Trail attracted more than 300 Trail Travellers who packed up and drove along with their campervans and cars. What began as 141 Trail Travellers in 2024, has since grown into a road-trip community, with many returning year after year. With more Trail Travellers joining each year, it is more important than ever to have our Trail Ambassadors on board to help make bring a unique, immersive and accessible experience.
2026 Trail Ambassadors
On the 2026 Outback Trail, QLD Music Trails welcomed renowned country music artists Tori Darke and Taylor Moss, alongside Auslan interpreter Mikey Webb, as Trail Ambassadors.
Tori is an Australian contemporary country music singer-songwriter with a career spanning more than a decade. Her deep connection to country music resonates with regional audiences and brings a big voice to a smaller stage.
Taylor, also an Australian country music singer, is known for her dedication to being a role model for young women. Both artists set the scene for our audiences, getting stuck in front of the camera and on stage, and lifting the energy at every stop along the Trail.
Music should be shared and experienced by everyone. That’s why Mikey Webb was a fantastic addition as our Accessibility Ambassador. Mikey brought a whole new dimension to language and song by interpreting on stage. This allowed our audience members to engage with the lyrics and follow everything happening on stage.
Whenever there was a chance to meet the crowd, our Trail Ambassadors were there, from tourist destinations and stops along the Trail to, of course, the main stage.
Community and Connection
Community is at the heart of every Outback town, and Trail Ambassadors make sure the Outback Trail reflects the same energy. Beyond their performances on stage, the Trail Ambassadors help shape the spirit of the journey by connecting with local communities, holding workshops for aspiring musicians and visiting local schools and aged care facilities to create moments that will stay with you long after the music ends.
Tori, Taylor and Mikey travelled alongside Trail Travellers in a campervan, meeting them at each pitstop and sharing stories along the way. Those moments with the artists, shared in some truly special towns, created an authentic experience for everyone involved, and a journey through regional communities many wouldn’t otherwise visit.
It’s why we’ll keep bringing music, arts and culture to as many corners of the Outback as we can.
